Raising the Roof for Manluk Theatre

“Patrons of the Manluk Theatre have often ‘raised the roof’ with enthusiastic standing ovations after a performance…”

Now, the theatre board needs to raise the roof in a much more literal way. There are leaks over the audience, the stage, and even in the dressing room and storage areas. We need to act quickly to protect what we have invested into this beautiful facility.

The Manluk Theatre is the oldest performing arts centre in Alberta built as Wetaskiwin’s first electrical generating plant in 1905. The building had sat empty for years and was scheduled for demolition until the Wetaskiwin Theatre Society took over more than twenty years ago. We have well over 300,000 volunteer man-hours to get to where we are now.

Our fund-raising goal is $120,000 and we hope to begin construction this fall.
