MANLUK THEATRE – Call for Submissions
Do you have an idea for a great full-length mainstage play for the Manluk Theatre to produce that you
have always wanted to direct?
Now is the time to submit your proposal for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons.
Manluk Theatre supports theatre artists at all stages of their practice. We encourage applications from
both emerging and seasoned directors.
What kinds of plays are we looking for?
Manluk Theatre is looking to curate a season with relevant and exciting storytelling that will entertain,
inspire, and challenge our diverse membership and audiences.
Specifically:
– The production will have broad based appeal to the community and our audience base and
potentially provide an opportunity to expand our audience.
– The production is appropriate for the directors, cast and crew available.
– The production has a high likelihood of being profitable.
Possible options to consider (but not limited to):
– Canadian works
– Plays with good roles for all gender representations (with a variety of ages)
– Dramas, comedies, classics, thrillers, musicals, etc.

Submissions for the 2023-24 season must be received by March 1, 2024
Early submissions for the 2024-25 season are welcome.
Show dates are: (some minor variation in dates may be considered)
November – 3 rd and 4 th weekend
February – 2nd, and 3rd weekend
May 1st and 2nd weekend
Note: All participants in community theatre productions produced by the Manluk Theatre are
volunteers. Manluk Theatre provides sound and lighting technicians for one tech rehearsal and for the
public performances.
